Musicians are having a huge hissy fit over 30 second samples and having their music in downloaded movies and tv shows. While I can partially see the point with downloadable TV shows and Movies assuming they are getting this royalty fee if someone went to the local brick and mortar store and bought it. As far a 30 second samples go, WTF is wrong with you. Are you that moronic? Say I am looking for a specific song from an artist but I do not know what the song is called. If I am in the Itunes store or on Amazon I would go to the artists page and listen to the sample of the song, find the one it was and then purchase it. Even if I know the name of the song I still prefer to listen to the sample just to make sure that it really is what I am looking for. I would rather be safe then sorry when it comes to spending my money. Pretty soon people will start to pirate music even more. They keep hearing about how all these people are getting free music online, and with the current price raises of music they are bound to end up looking into it and trying it themselves. While I do believe that musicians should be collecting money for their work there comes a point where charging for a 30 second sample or something similar is just overkill.
